DOROTHY WAS RIGHT

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 9, 2010, 2:37 PM
:iconthefonzplz: I'm Baaacccckkk.

There literally is no place like home. After an entire week of trying to leave my parent's, I managed to get all the way back to Norwich to my own little dwelling in this great big world. My Dad gave me a lift on Friday evening all the way to Norwich, with my brother, Tom, and the dogs. My dog, Chuck, and the family dog, Poppy. The snow was incredibly heavy all the way here to the point where we couldn't put on the high-beams or it looked like we were driving headfirst into a wall of snow. We drove behind a lorry the entire way too, which helped, but we still slid around everywhere. Everyone survived though, thank god.

My christmas was full of it's share of surprises and fun times, most of my happiness seemed to stem from me not actually being at my parent's house and with my family, but rather with my friends. Don't get me wrong, there isn't something decidedly terrible about my family life that would warrant me calling my family bad. But honestly, we never really have gotten on well together. There are many reasons about this, from there being so many of us and that we are all so different and incredibly in your face that we all irritate each other. My family also cares what other people think a lot more than they should, and seem too content with helping people that aren't part of their lives or not worthy of help, when they should be concentrating on themselves or their family instead.

A main example of this would be my uncle, and I did write an entire essay of how he's hurt my family, along with other members like my second cousin who turns up in Schizophrenic rages, but I've decided to take it out because it was lengthy and sad. Anyway, my entire family was living at my parents all Christmas, and have remained there except for me as I have my own home. My second oldest sister has moved back in after leaving her partner, and my parents are not happy about it either.

I love my family, I really do.

On the lighter side of things, I got quite a few amazing presents. The best ones being an awesome wireless printer/fax/scanner combo from my parents, two bottles of really nice aftershave, and a Wacom Bamboo Tablet that I bought myself, along with other DVDs and paint tools from family members and friends. The other up side was that I scoffed everyone else's chocolates so that I still had mine to bring home with me! Another happy side was that I have found the joys of gaming again. It may sound like a really bad idea, however as a teenager I played games all the time as it was the best way to calm myself down and relax and spark my inspiration. A lot of people say they breed anxiety and tension but actually, for me, for a brief moment I no longer feel anxious. So I've been playing racing games on my Macbook and adventure games like Crash Bandicoot, because they're childish and no-brainers.

Other news articles include me finding out that it is a LOT easier to use a Tablet if you draw with your whole arm rather than your wrist. Why did no one tell me this before? The Dragon Age : Origins soundtrack is kind of a new obsession, and I am really really loving my turkish delight right now. Mmmmmmm. I've also been writing a shit tonne, adding to my already healthy collection of literature. I have been tempted to upload my work here, but nothing is finished and I would really be worried about someone stealing them. Seriously, I am a paranoid person but it's true, I am very proud of a lot of the things I write, more so than my artwork, so I probably never will. It just bugs me that I have the pictures of the characters in my head, exactly how I will draw them, and when I do they look incredibly shit.

Art, there's your problem.
